In a quest to win back my ex boyfriend, I started thinking of ways to make myself hotter. I have always known he is a sucker for tattoos and piercings so I started thinking about what I might want, or what might look good on me. All I could think about that I would actually want on my body was a belly button piercing.

But being so afraid of the pain and of it looking horrible, I thought it was one of those ideas I’d only THINK about doing, and it wasn‘t even a serious thought.

The only person I told about my thought was our mutual friend, Arthur. He immediately said he wanted to get it for my birthday coming up in a few weeks. After a lot of begging I jokingly agreed to let him pay, if he could find a place under $45. It turned out, his favorite piercing place, Fondue in Sparks, Nevada, had a great deal with a naval piercing and your choice of jewelry for $40.

A few days later he showed up to take me there, and caught me completely off guard. Before we went my ex told me how much it would hurt (worse than my ears had, worse than my tattoo, and much worse than his lip or ear cartilage had.)

We got there and he told the girl behind the counter that he had called and I was there for the naval piercing. Apparently he had told her what a chicken I was, because the entire staff went from polite to overly caring, talking to me in hushed tones like you would use to sooth a crying baby. I chose jewelry with light blue stones to match my tattoo, and into the room we went.

The piercer told me the step by step process, and cleaned me off and marked her spot. I went along with the marks she made, trusting her after she washed and remarked me a few times to make sure it was perfect. If she was happy with it, I figured I was too. So I laid down and clutched Arthur’s hand over my eyes as the piercer tried to keep me calm. I flinched at the clamps she put on my stomach, and held my breath. After instructing me to breathe in and out a few times, she told me to take a deep breath and suddenly it was over! I hardly felt a thing

In summer 2011, I met a girl named Faith. We soon began dating each other, and she worked at a small local tattoo shop in the next town over. I spent a lot of my time at the shop, sitting around, watching others get pierced and tatted up.

Ever since I was probably around 10 or 11, I’d wanted to get my belly button pierced. I figured this might be my one and only shot for a while. I asked my girlfriend if the owner of the shop, Jack, would pierce my navel for me, and he agreed. (I had my mother’s permission, of course.)

It was late one night, just before closing at around 10:30. I picked out a metal navel ring with a dirty word on the bottom ball of it (I’m a teenager, so what.) and sat myself down on the table. I’ve had piercings before, pain is nothing new to me, but none of my piercings have ever hurt quite like my belly button.

The good thing is, you can’t exactly feel when the needle goes through due to the clamps. All I felt was about 45 seconds of pain, then it was done. It was infected for about two weeks before it healed up, and now it’s doing wonderfully. By far my favorite piercing.

Wow, i couldn’t believe it. My mother finally agreed to let me get my belly button pierced! I wanted it done for about a year and I was almost 14 when I finally got it pierced. [young, I know] but I was so determined and NOTHiNG could stop me now!It was on a Saturday afternoon, and at the time my cousin and my aunt were living with me.

My cousin is three years older than me, and she already had 8 piercings. She knew that I wanted to get my belly button pierced [which would be my first piercing besides my ears] and she decided that since she always wanted to get her eyebrow done, she would do it the same day i got my bellybutton done.

We begged my aunt to let her get her eyebrow pierced, and she FiNALLY gave in and then we had to decide on a tattoo/piercing place that was clean, and trustworthy. My cousin wanted to go to the Beauty Mark Tattoo in Waterbury, Connecticut because that’s where she got many of her other piercings, so that’s where we went! All I could remember was on the car ride thre, my hands were really sweaty and I was shaking and I couldn’t stop talking.

I couldn’t get the image out of my mind of a huge needle being shoved through the skin on top of my bellybutton, and that scared me. Alot. Oh, one thing I want to tell you: if you want to get your bellybutton pierced, but are afraid of how much it will hurt, TRUST ME it doesn’t hurt AT ALL and if you are like me and keep trying to pinch your bellybutton to see if it hurts that much, don’t do that because pinching yourself does hurt, but actually getting it pierced doesn’t hurt at all!!

Well it’s been almost a year now since that day and im still in love with it! I love buying new barbells to put in it and its so much fun to show off! I’m working on convincing my mom to let me get my tongue pierced now, I hope she’ll say yes!

“WHOA WHAT’s THAT?!” I yelled at my sister when she turned to look at me. It was her eyebrow piercing. It was the first piercing I’ve ever seen in my life other than the simple ear piercings and nose piercings. At first, I was disgusted, then in shock, and then feelings of awe began to creep. I asked her why she pierced her eyebrow and then she simply said , “because she was in college”. I pondered the simple statement that actually said so much. I had many other questions to ask her but decided to keep them to myself. I myself from that moment on, wanted to see how it would feel like to have a piercing. And ultimately, that is the reason why I had my belly pierced.

My parents hate piercings and I’m not allowed to have any, so go figure, I waited until I turned 18 to get my belly pierced. Yelp. Oh how much I love Yelp. I read all the comments about the San Francisco Haight Ashbury Piercings and Tattoos Store. They had discount days and had 4 stars plus numerous good reviews, and that is ultimtely what made me decide where I wanted to get my belly pierced.

My piercer was pretty awesome, she had a good sense of humor and she was also very pretty (: .She told me everything I needed to know ahead of time and gave me the option of whether or not I wanted to look at the needle before she pierced. Before I sat into the chair, my heart was beating as fast as ever. The chair was kind of squeaky and it tilted and squeaked a bit, that freaked me out even more.

But the process was simple and my piercer just stuck the needle into me, there was no pain there. And then she stuck in the belly ring. “UGH”, I groaned in pain. The belly ring insertion itself hurt a lot more than just the needle. No lie, it might be just because I have a low tolerance towards pain.

My piercer gave me a handout that told me about how to care for my brand new piercing. And I have not fully healed yet, I just got my piercing two weeks ago.

When I was 16, I had decided, for sure, I wanted my belly button pierced. My parents weren’t too keen on the idea, but I knew someday I’d get it. Today, it’s been almost 3 years since I brought up the idea to mom and dad, they still don’t approve, but then again, they don’t know either.

I got my belly button pierced on July 29th of this year. My little sister had just gotten her liscense, and I told her to take me out there, I figured I could hold that over her head seeing how if my parents found out, they’d take her liscense away, so she agreed.

We went to a local tattoo shop called twisted ink, and when we pulled up my best friend of 5years, Megan, was sitting on the bench outside smoking. I was excited because I knew that if anyone was going to do this for me, I wanted it to be someone I trust, and I trust her with my life. So, I asked her if she’d pierce me, and she said yes.

We went into the shop, and after filling out two papers (safety precautions and piercer liability, the norm.) and began having set up, she told me to come on back. I knew at this point there was no backing out, and I was a little nervous.

My hands started shaking after she marked me and told me to lie down. My stomach, at this point, was in knots. I wasn’t sure what to expect. I knew it was going to hurt, but I wasn’t sure how much. I had joked with her and said *psh, I bet the clamp is going to hurt more than the actual piercing, ha!* she replied with *haha! You can think whatever you want.* that scared me a little. lol!

So, after that she counted up. 1, 2,3… I took a deep breath and the needle was in, I let it out and that’s when I started to feel it. It wasn’t that painful, it was more sore than anything. The worst part, I think, was the pressure of the clamp and the removal of the needle/placing of the jewelry, that didn’t feel too good. She did a GREAT job. So much so that I gave her a $20 tip. haha. Notice I have a lot of scars on my belly, hence why I call this *my center piece* :]

My best friend and i always planned to get our navel pierced together so we finally picked a day February 5, 2011. We went up to the store and we chose our first navel ring. I went first it was pretty quick and easy no blood/ pain.

So i started feeling nauseous and the piercer made me smell some alcohol but i didn’t really helped. But i was done so i walked back into the waiting area while i was walking i felt like i was sweating hard and i was in AC pretty weird for someone who don’t normally sweat. So i moved quickly to a stool and sat down but i still felt sick.

My eyes started getting blurry so i knew what was happening. (The last time that happened was because i watched someones hand that got cut being nursed and at the end i was very close to blacking out.)

So i shouted out for help and someone came to me. my best friend started freaking out while she was getting her navel done. So hers started to bleed alot. Someone started to fan me and i closed my eyes so i wouldn’t get too dizzy.

Mybest friend went and got me water and it helped so i just had to relax for a while. Plus i couldn’t let my mom find out. A couple of months passed and my piercing started to drain and i started to get a rash inside my navel. So i talked to my piercer and she told me to get somethings to help.

I went and bought them but it started to get worst inside my navel started to look darker and it started to strip alot. So i finally went to the Doc 3 weeks after because i was working and i had no time to go without letting my parents know. so she gave me some pills and a product to apply after i clean the piercing. after a week i saw a little difference so i continued with the product.

i also changed the navel ring and the infection went away. i still see little sighs of infection so i’m going back to the doctor soon. Well all my friends love my piercing and i want to get a next one done but i’m not sure if i can handle it!

For my 16th birthday my mom wanted to do something special since I wasn’t able to get my liscence so she asked if I wanted to get my belly button pierced and of course I said yes, I was so excited!

My mom did the research and we decided to go to eau claire which was an hour away. We took my mom, my boyfriend and my moms best friend. I wasn’t nervous on the way there but as soon as we got there I was really scared. I walked in there and it was really nice inside.

the guy was kind of scary because all his tattoos and he had bumpy implants in his arm, but he was super nice. I got to pick out the jewelry and the guy led me and one person into the back room. I picked my boyfriend.

He showed me everything was starile and had me stand up so he could put the dot on my tummy. it looked good so i layed down on the table. He didn’t use a clamp. i thought he was just poking me with the needle to position it but it turns out he was piercing it! I was so surprised.

It was not as bad as I thought.

He told me to wash it twice a day with nonscented soap. it actually took a while to heal, almost 6th months, but i changed it almost right away which wasn’t a good idea. I love it so much. I love changing it and stuff. my favorite belly button ring was only $6. I plan on getting more piercings. I’m actually getting my tragus done in less than a week, and I’m really nervous about how bad that will hurt.

After my belly button piercing everyone wanted to take pictures and stuff. We went out to eat at olive garden and it didn’t hurt to sleep on at all. Just a little sore, especially when it caught on my clothes :/ I like telling people the story, because I want them to have a good piercing experiance too. Hope this helps (: x.

I had never had any kind of piercing done before so i thought it was time to get one done. i always wanted to get me belly button pierced so i went and got it done. i went on march 30, 2009, my 18th birthday, to get it done. i was terrified because i thought it was gonna hurt but the guy that pierced my belly button was really nice. he kept telling me that it wouldnt hurt that much and he was right.

It didnt hurt when he pierced it but it did hurt when he put the ring through the hole. after he pierced it he let me know how to take care of my piercing. he gave me a list with things i needed to do to keep it clean. my belly button never got infected because of the list that i was given with instructions of how to care for my piercing.

It took about three months for my belly button to completely heal but after a month i had already changed my ring. i was so excited that i had my belly button pierced that i was showing it to everybody i knew and after awhile all my friends told me to stop showig it cuz they had already seen it. since i was one of the only girls from my friends that had her belly button pierced, i went some of my friends when they got their belly button pierced and now im gonna take my younger sister when she turns 18.

I took my friends to the same place that i went to get my piercing done because all the guys that i saw there were really nice and supporting when they were doing the piercing. i love having my belly button pierced so much that i have been a belly dancer for halloween the past couple of years just so i can show it off. im so glad my first piercing turned out to be so great.

The day after my birthday, my mom had to work in the morning so i decided i would go get my belly pierced since its something, i have always wanted to do. But never got permission for it! haha

So we decided we where going to go somewhere where i would only have to pay 25 dollars for it, the place was called Block Monster. We arrive there and it was close -_-

I had done the research and everything, and not one did it mention on their website on Tuesday it had to be by appointment. Then we decided to go to a place called sorry mom in downtown Fredericksburg, and because there not licensed they were closed as well.


Great! I was so frustrated and mad at this moment, we decided we would try one last place called Top Notch. After driving around for 30 min and making circles and being completely lost we found the place. We walked in and automatically they made us fill out forms, as k for ID yadi yadi yada! Payed 40 dollars for it!

My guy best friend was with me and my sis we were patiently waiting,then the piercer called my name. Everyone wanted to come into the room with me but only one person was allowed, so my guy best friend came with me we walk into the room, My guys bff sees a chair and asks if he can sit in it lol and I tell him your suppose to hold my hand babe and the piercer was like there’s no holding hands here!

He told me to stand up straight and he marked the two holes made me go see if they were straight! Then told me to lay down, I felt him clamp my skin and then the next thing I knew it was done and over with! Didn’t hurt at all.

I OD clean my belly button because I don’t want to risk getting an infection. I clean mines in the shower I use Dial soap the bar not the liquid kind. And then I put hot water and a little bit of sea salt mix it all together and put that on my piercing and last but not least I use the H2O spray at least 3 times a day!

My big sister mila inspired me to get my belly button pierced, She told me it didn’t hurt so I asked my parents they said they will have to think about cause im only 14 years old so the next week or so I was allowed.

So i was about to go to the shop to get it done at Earth And Moons. Thats were my sister got heres done so I decided to it only costed $60.00 so not bad and the girl that did it she was so nice she even waited for me to get ready and stuff.

So she got the clampers out and then she got the need she said breath in 1 breath and then let go when I tell you and she did it twice and it worked perfectly and it took a week to two weeks to heal but after all its really cute.

She gave me instuctions on how to keep it clean and stuffand where to ge tbelly button rings but every where I look they are too exspensive so I only got one belly ring and I try to keep it as clean as possible.It is very pretty now and thank you guys so much.
