I first got my Navel pierced in November 2010 and I didn’t feel it at all, it was almost as if someone had pinched my belly button and lightly twisted it quickly. The shop I went to had a bad reputation for Tattoos, but I found this out after I went, make sure you look up reviews online about the shop before you go.

Although I didn’t have a bad experience there I had a bad experience with my after care. I thought I did all the research that I needed to know, but it turned out I was very wrong.

I read somewhere on the internet to use sea salt soaks and Bactine twice a day. DO NOT! I repeat DO NOT use Bactine, it dries out the piercing and traps the bacteria. I also used Alcohol on it cause a friend told me that’s what she did and apparently that dries out the piercing even more and is worse. It didn’t really occur to me that my skin was slowly flaking inbetween my piercing until I woke up one morning and the skin was completely translucent.

I went to my piercer that day and she tld me hat I unfortunately had to take it out and let it heal, I was so bummed!

Now I just got my navel re-pierced 3 days ago, I wasn’t expecting it to hurt at all considering the first time I barely felt it, but this time it actually hurt alot and it bled quite a bit after it was done. My new piercer told me it was normal when going through some scar tissue for it to bleed. ( she did pierce behind my scar though.)

When I was leaving she explained the sea salt soaks again but this time gave me a free bottle of Provon Antimicrobial Lotion Soap to use as well. (Dial Antibacterial soap works just as well.) I also went out after and bought myself some H2Ocean from another piercing salon because they did not sell it where I went.

My new piercing seems to be doing great lately though, I’ve been cleaning it twice a day and making sure I move the bar up and down when cleaning. Please make sure you do A LOT of research before you get it done, I made the mistake of not reading enough.

 So when I was 12 years old me and my best friend said we wanted to get out belly buttons periced. So, we tryed to do it our self’s That didn’t work out they got infected. So we had to take them out.

And then the second time I had it dont professonaly, and when I did I got it for christmas this year, and when I did, I was like it is gonna hurt like a hell becasue it did when we did it our self’s well no when he clamped it I was like I was like Mama, Hold my hand ! ( I am not 14 years old)

So when he put the needle in, I was like oh Mama let go of my hand that didnt even hurt! She was like Oh My God It looks like it hurt, I was like nawh. It don’ t.

So now that I have had it for about a month in a half. I have not had any problems with it. I am a cheerleader, so I have to put a plug in it when we have practice.. And I LOVE IT !! So happy I got it re done!

I decided to get my belly button pierced because recently I lost weight and I thought it would be a good way to bring in the new year. My sister got hers done when she was 14 and I always wanted one too.

I went with my friend to get it done in San Diego at the same place she had been pierced before. The shop was clean, bright and spacious. The piercer, Evan, was rather young, probably in his late twenties. I would have preferred to be pierced by another girl but he was the only piercer that worked there.He turned out to be very nice as well as knowlegable, though so I didn’t mind.

He explained the piercing process to me and the aftercare before we got started. I was relieved to hear that he wouldn’t be using a clamp, which I heard is painful. After I signed the consent form, which I was able to do myself since I’m 18, we went to the piercing room off to the side which like the rest of the shop was clean, spacious and well lit.

Before making the mark on my belly where the piercing would go, he cleaned the skin around my tummy and the reclining bench I was to lay on. He told me to take a deep breath and pierced me as I exhaled. I did the same as he put the surgical steel ring in. I used to have my septum pierced so I didn’t think it would hurt as bad.

Instead, I think it was more painful. The actual pain wasn’t too bad, it just took a little longer to do than my septum. All in all the process was very quick and I paid 70 dollars for it when we finished. My piercing has healed very well and I was able to surprise my boyfriend with it! I can’t wait to get a pretty dangley ring and wear it to the beach!

I had wanted a piercing for a long time. I just always thought they were cute and stylish. When my friend got one I also wanted to get one soon. My parents were kind of strict so I had to figure out how to ask for one.

I was almost 14 and I decided I would ask my mom first since its easier for me to get my way with her on this subject matter. The first few times I asked her for one she said no. My dad absolutely didn’t want me to have one and there was no way of changing his mind. I asked my mom over the course of a few months if I could get the piercing and her answer remained the same.

A few weeks before my 15 birthday she told me that she had a surprise for me. When it finally came to two days of my birthday she told me that I could get my belly button pierced.

She called around to a few piercing shops to see if any of them would pierce a minor and the first few shops we called said no. Then finally we called a shop that said they would do it and they were about 15 minutes away.

Me y mom and my sister all went to the piercing shop and looked around. It looked nice and clean in there. I saw the display that had the different rings I could choose from. My mom signed some paper work while I picked out a ring. Then we had to wait for my ring to sterilize. They called me back and I had to lay back on a reclining chair. The piercer got the marker and put dots above my bellybutton to tell him where to pierce me.

Now I was getting nervous. He put the clamps on and that hurt more then the needle did. Then he counted to 3 and the needle was through. Then he slid the ring in.

I’ve had the ring for almost 10 months now and its almost completely healed! I didn’t have any complications with the healing and I changed the ring at 2 months.

I have always wanted a belly button piercing since I was young so when my best friend got hers done it immediately reminded me that I’ve always wanted one. Before she got hers done I had no idea about the process or even thought about how the jewellery was designed or inserted.

She told me all the details and said it didn’t hurt; I thought about it for a while and educated myself about it on the internet. Finally I decided I would get it done.

I went to the same place where my friend got hers done which was a long drive away, but it was worth it because my friend said it was good. So it came the day to get it done, I was the most nervous I have been in my whole life, luckily I brought my friend and her sister who also wanted hers done as well.

My mum was also there as I needed parental permission to get it done. Finally we got there and it was a shiny room filled with thousands of jewels. My friends and I looked at the jewellery while my mum went to the counter to let them know we were hre. It took a while before the piercer came and called us into a room.

First the piercer looked at my bellybutton to check if it wasn’t too tense or something, it almost was and the piercer had to get another piercer’s opinion. Luckily it was fine and it was time to choose a jewel, I chose a diamond looking one.

So then the piercer marked my navel and by this time I was terrified, I was still standing up and when she put the clamp on I thought she already pierced it! She got me to hold the clamp and walk over to the chair, which was quite annoying. I waited a little while and did not dare to look!

Finally it was done and I have to tell you the needle hurt like hell! I thought It wouldn’t hurt that bad but for some reason it did. After it was done my friend’s sister fainted! She had to lie down and put her legs in the air! It’s been a bit more than a year now and it’s almost fully healed and I absolutely love it!

How I Decided to get the piercing:
I love piercings, so I thought one more couldn’t hurt to add to a number of 13 piercings. And this piercing got me to 14.

How I chose the piercing studio:
The shop I went to is called “Sorry Moms” I went there for my nose and my regular belly piercing.

The Piercer:
The piercer was great, he had done my other 2 piercings I listed before.
The process happened like this:
I got in there, and this guy who was getting a tattoo was talking to me about my piercings and what I was going to get. Then I went it the back room and bam the piercing is done. Never felt it go through.

How I found out to take care of it:
He gave me this little information sheet. And sold me H2Ocean.

For my healing process:
It only took me 2 weeks for my piercing to heal, unlike others it takes 6 weeks. I am constantly cleaning my piercings, so it heals quicker.

I finally decided to get my belly button pierced after thinking about it for over a year. I did some research online and it looked like it didn’t hurt too much.

My sister got hers done a few months before and I liked the way it looked. She didn’t like where she got hers done, she said they weren’t professional and they weren’t very clean. We did some research online and found a place that was cheap and seemed clean. I decided to go to Tattoo U.

I planned on it just being my mom and my boyfriend who came with me, but it turned out to be my sister and her two daughters as well. When we got there, I picked out a ring that I thought was cute and waited for them to call me back. When they did, I walked into the room shaking unbelievably from nerves.

I sat on the table and squeezed my boyfriends hand as hard as i could. I layed down on the table and as the needle started to go through, it got stuck and the piercer had to pull it back out. I had to wait a few minutes for it to stop bleeding before e tried again. Thankfully, this time it went through.

After it was finally through, I walked out of the room and my youngest niece started to cry because she didn’t understand I purposefully got the belly ring put into my stomach. I loved my new piercing. Of course, responsibility came along with it. I cleaned it with anitbacterial soap and sea salt water 3-4 times a day. I had to leave my starter ring in for 3 months, but i changed it at 2 1/2 and I didn’t have any problems with it.

The ring was put farther up than normal so there was some pulling so it was more comfortable, but there was no scarring which is very good. I went on vacation a few weeks later and I loved the way it looked Overall, I was very pleased with this piercing and I love all of the belly rings i”ve bought.

For my fourteenth birthday, I thought it would be fun to go get my navel piercing done. My dad agreed to take me (my mom said she’d pass out if she took me) and we went to this little alternative/piercing place in the mall.

We got there and the piercer took me into a little room and started scrubbing my belly down. My stomach was stained bright orange for a good day and a half afterwards, so you know.

Once I was clamped and the needle was halfway through, the piercer decided it would be a good idea to have a break or something. She walked away, stretched her legs, and came back and finished. It didn’t hurt and I was super excited it was over. We finished up and went home.

A couple of weeks later, my ring decided to spit the lower part of my bellybutton during the middle of class and start bleeding everywhere! I went back to the place I got it done at and this guy said the person had been fired for too many mistakes on piercings or something,

He took a look and said that she had probably piercd it way too low and while it was healing, it corrected itself and pulled upwards.After that, it got really infected from being an open wound, and took forever to heal. Now I have a big scar (luckily its on the bottom of my ring and its almost completely hidden)

Moral of the story: ALWAYS find out from other people if piercing shops are reliable or not!

I remember getting my belly button pierced like it was just yesterday, because it was such an experience for me! I decided that I wanted to get it done because I had seen so many celebrities, models, and even most of my friends with their navels pierced. And it wasn’t just that, the belly button piercings are so cute too!

I decided to ask my mom before I asked my dad, since he’s stricter than my mom is. So, I asked her, and she said, “Yeah, if you can pay for it and have your grades up to A’s and B’s.” Those didn’t seem like really hard things to do, I did things around the house a few trusted online survey sites for money, and

I studied so much and did everything I possibly could to get my C average to a B average, and I did in about four weeks! But then I had to ask my dad. I asked him saying something like, “Dad, I asked Mom, and she said it was okay, and that if I had the grades and money, I could get my belly button pierced.” So he asked me all these questions abou it, and of course I answered them from doing research, and he said it was okay, which got me excited!

I chose the closest piercing studio near me; I live right outside of Memphis, so I got my piercing done there. The piercer was super nice and told me about the risks, what she was going to do, how to take care of it, and then let me pick out my jewelry. I picked out a diamond! Then, she sat me down in the chair, drew dots on my belly button, and asked if they were even. I said yes, and then she started. First she numbed the area, so it wouldn’t hurt at much, and trust me, it helped. Then she used her clamps.

Those hurt more than the needle itself and then she put the needle through, and after that the ring itself, and the switching from the needle to the jewelry hurt worst. Overall, it wasn’t that painful. Maybe a 3. I got my belly button pierced just about a month ago, so it hasn’t healed completely yet, but right now it is doing completely good!

I can’t wait to show it off in the summer!!

I want to say that I did pierce my own belly when I was 14. Stupid I know but I loved and wanted this piercing soooooo much but my mom is strictly NO to any piercings, including my industrial.

Anyway I was searching the web for pictures of goth clothing and etc. when I came across a couple body jewelry sites. I looked at the belly rings first, and I instantly knew I wanted this piercing. I asked my mom several times in the span of a couple of months. Same answer always was no.

I finally had enough and decided to do it myself.
After school one day, I went to a friend’s house. I had already bought a belly ring from walmart and I had gathered up a sewing needle, some alcohol wipes, a clamp, and a clean towel. I sat down in the middle of my friend’s bedroom , put the clamp onto my belly,marked the spot with a pen, cleaned the needle, and prepared myself for the pain. I knew the moment the sewing needle went through my flesh I was going to regret it. I bit down on my lips and the neede finally went through. The worst pain I ever felt in my life was when my friend helped me push the belly ring through the much smaller hole in my belly. I wanted this piercings so much, yet I knew I shouldn’t have done this.

After a couple weeks, though, my piercing got infected like I knew it would, and after the infection healed, I noticed that the piercing itself was way too shallow to heal right so I took it out. I was sooooo upset, but I eventually got to get it pierced by a professional. Please do not pierce yourself, guys and girls. Bad Idea. I didn’t have a noticable scar, but I still know that I damaged myself and it hurt more when I got it done properly than it would have if I had not gotten impatient.
