Lots of people these days are getting piercings some normal and some unique i am one of thoes people tht does them themselves rather than paying to get them done.

I wanted to try to pierce my belly so i got out a curved sowing needle and sterilized it then i got the belly ring i purchased earlier and sterilized tht too then i got a permanent marker and figured out where the hole would begin and end up then i got out some ice and nummed the sopt for awile then pushed the needle all the way through and left it in for abt a couple of hrs.

Then i took the needle out and pushed the belly ring in and after that i sterilized it and put tape on the piercing so it wouldnt rip off in my sleep and did it every night for about 4 weeks untill it healed then in abt 7 weeks i changed it to a dangly ring making shure to sterilize every ring tht i used into my belly it can be a painful piercing and if u have thick skin lyk me it will be a difficult piercing to do u have to beable to take pain when doing this pircing or it will hurt u and only use surgical stainless steal stanless steal or the new PFFTE piercings or it will get infected!

Finally Got It!!!

So for like two years now I have been wanting a belly ring.

In 8 th grade I wanted a belly ring and to get my ears pierced again. My mom took me to get my ears pierced. But she said no to the belly ring. So I let it go in 9th grade I really stared to want one be cuz we moved to South Carolina and alot of girls have them. But I told my self I was going to put it off be cuz I wanted to get into shape.

So once again I put it off. So in the summer of 09 I was going to asking again but I had gained a little weight cuz of the good summer cooking. So around X – mas I wrote on my list that I had wanted a belly ring. So when x -mas came around I still didn’t get it. So I tried for my birthday. My birthday is the day right after x -mas. But my mom still said no.

So I found this website. I looked up alot of information. Like healing time, places to go, jewlery, price, ect. Sent it to my parents. They looked at it and still said no. So I went back to this website
and started to read some stories. One stoy the girl sent alot of videos of people getting pierced with the title of each one saying “I refuse to give up.” So I did the same and a little more. I sent the videos and pics of people that had alot of piercings. And under those pictures I wrote ” I dont want this much i just want a belly ring,” still my parents said no.

So I was really sad. A few days later my auntie called me and Told me that she would take me. So I sent the weekend over her house and the next day she took me to get pierced. The place was VERY CLEAN. It didn’t cost that much. I got pierced with a Bioplast, cuz I didn’t want an infection. And that night my auntie told my mom what she let me do.

And she told my mom to stop acting like she never wanted anything like that. She sent me home with a picture of my mom. She had 16 piercings on her face and mouth!!

It was tottally worth it!

So I was sitting at home one day looking on Google and deciding what piercing I want. I’ve already got my ears pierced, so this would be the 2nd time getting a piercing. I went to town with my friend one day and we saw a piercing place, and asked how old we had to be to get a belly button piercing. They said 16 to come alone, or any age and come with a parent. So I went home and asked my Mom if I could get a belly piercing, but of course, she said no. I said “Why?” she said “Because what if it gets infected or anything like that? You’re only 13!” I said “It could be part of my Christmas pressent, please?” So in the end, she said yes.

A couple of weeks later, my friend who I went to town with wanted it done too. We both went together with my Mom. When we got to the piercing place, my Mom had to fill out a few forms for us both. We pretended we were sisters. On the door, there was a sign.. it said, “No weenies aloud!” …I got quite scared.

When we both went into the room, the piercer calledKate said “Who’s going first?” Me and my friend had already decided that I was going to go first. There were 3 choices of belly bars, but they were all the same. A pink one, a blue one and a silver one. My friend Hayley wanted the blue one, so I got the pink one.

She marked with a pen where she was going to stick the needle through and told me to look at it in the mirror, so I did. She told me to lay down on the chair, and I was looking at the ceiling. My Mom doesnt like body piercings so she was just waiting outside. Hayley was stood over me watching, asking the piercer questions like ‘DOES IT HURT? HOW DOES IT WORK? WHEN ARE YOU GOING TO BE DONE?’ the piercer couldnt pierce my belly button untill Hayley stops speaking, or the piercer would get distracted. Hayley shuts up, and the piecer puts the clamp on my belly button. I have quite a high pain tolerance… she puts the needle through, and I screamed. It felt like I got shot. Yes it hurt very much. So when I stood up, I looked in the mirror. I l!
oved it.
But then seconds later, I started to feel dizzy and it felt like I was going to faint.

It was Hayleys turn. She marked it with a pen and told Hayley to lie down. Hayley gets the giggles alot, and when she starts giggling, she cannot stop. She started to giggle, and laugh, and cry with laughter. About 10 minutes of laughing, she stopped. The piercer was very patient, which was good. The piercer put the clamp on Hayley, and Hayley started to laugh again. The piercer took the clamp off, and said “Please be quiet, because I’m losing my patience”, that made Hayley shut up. She pierced it, and it was all done.

The piercer gave both of us instructions for looking after our new piercing. About a month later, mine was fine and looked very pretty. Hayleys looked very red and hers was itching alot.

It was tottally worth it! Picture above, no she did not pierce my belly button slanted. The belly bar is just slanted there, and the camera angle is slanted also.

Thanks for reading :D

Ouch!

It took forever to get my mother to agree i done alot of research showing her videos and reports on it but finally she agreed to getting my belly button and industrail bar pierced.

At first when we walked in my dad wanted to get his new tattoo so the whole time hes getting hius done im sitting there freaking out about the pain but finally when the man gets done he takes us to another shop were they do the piercings,he was a very nice man.

I was still nervous i was literally shaking i dont know if i was cold or what but i was scared when he let me pick out the jewlery i got happy my belly button ring is green, my favorite color, and my industrial is silver. i was excited and scared he told me to lay down and her explained the proceider to me very carefullty then he pulled out the needle i was a little freaked out about the size but when he put the clamp on he said “i’ll tell you when im going to push the needle throught” he didnt but i dont care it was very painful for a few seconds then it stpped the same with my industrail dont let the pain physc you out its def.

I was about 11 when i wanted my belly button pierced and my mum wouldnt let me :( so when i turned 14 i got my first piercing on holiday.

I kept saying to my mum ‘is it done, is it done’ then she sed Yeahh. ii didnt feel a thing apart from a cold bar on me belly button. After a few months i was in the shower and seen my belly bar on the floor thinking it just fell out but then i looked and the skin that goes over the bar had come off, it wasnt bleeding it just had this wierd looking hole in my skin.

After that i didnt want to get it done again, but i did an this time its healed. I Got it done about 4 months ago and its still healing now unfortunatly. I can change the bar but it hurts when i put a dangly bar in :( . But it was my birthday today so i decided to get another piercing but didnt know where, i was thinking my nose or eyebrow but the thought of it getting infected on my face wasnt very pleasant so i decided to get a random place pierced and thought of the bottom of my belly button, s i went to the same place where i got the top done and he done it for me. i think it looks wierd but in a nice way.

Hopefully this one heels nicely and i have no problems with it. The bottom did hurt abit more than the top but it is worth it. Mainly the only reason why i wanted it doing was because i like it when you wear a vest top and you can see the dangly bars hanging down but im worryied that it might get infected if my top belly bar keeps nocking the bottom. Ive got my top one caught a couple of times and i think thats why it fell out in the first place so it might happen to the bottom, but the man who pierced it said it will have a less chance getting infected than the top because ther is more skin over the bar.

So Good Luck To Me :) )

I Worked Hard For This.

So for like two years now i’ve been asking my mom can i get a belly ring. And everytime she said no.

So the summer of 09 i really started geting interested in one. So i looked up alot of information like cost, healing time, ect. I put all that into a email and sent it to my parents. They still said no.

So i let two weeks pass. And thats when i started to get mad. I have alot of dolls in my room. So i truned all their head around and placed signs in my room saying “Happiness ans Smiles are no long in this room”

I also sent a bunch of videos of people geting their belly button pierced to my mom. And under each video i put “i will not give up until you say yes” So 2 days later my mom said yes and took me to get pierced. Now its all pretty :-)

Waited so long for it!

By Katie, from Doncaster, England.

I wanted my belly pierced since I can remember. I remember seeing all the stick thin girls when I was on holiday with their navel’s pierced, but I wasn’t allowed mine done because I was really young at the time. I had my ears done when I was 6 years old and I thought they hurt, so I was a bit apprehensive to have my belly done.
From when I started in secondary school (year 7), I tried to persuade my mum to let me have my belly pierced. Course, she didn’t let me, so I had to put the idea to the back of my head. Then, my sister wanted her hair dyed, which I wanted to do but wasn’t allowed, so I told my mum that if she had her hair dyed, I would have my belly pierced.

Anyway, she had her hair dyed, so my mum gave into me and allowed me to have my belly pierced, but said that I’d have to wait till the end of February when I’m 16 to get it done. I managed to bring that date forward to Christmas, and then thought about the healing process coinsiding with my leavers day, so I managed to bring it frward again to the 24th October. Near the big day, mum attempted to change my mind about it by saying things like ‘what will happen if you get an infection’, and ‘are you sure you want this done because when you have it done there’s no going back’, but this obviously didn’t work! I researched belly piercing and found out facts about the healing process, what material to have it pierced with and how to take care of it. Also, I found some videos on the actual piercing of the navel and familiarised myself with the process, so I wouldn’t freak out when I felt the clamp or the needle.
So, I’d managed to persuade my mum, but I decided not to tell my dad until afterwards and then he wouldn’t be able to do anything about it. All I had to do now was find a piercing studio. I’d heard a lot of good things about Body Arts in town from my friends, who’d had no problems with their piercing whatsoever, so I decided to go there. I rang them up and asked for the opening and closing times and the cost and what materi!
al they pierced with.

I went on the Saturday with my mum. The woman who pierced it was very friendly and sprayed some numbing solution on my belly. I chose my belly bar; it was gold titanium with pink gems. There were loads of belly bars in the cabinet so it took quite a while to choose. She came back, took the bar out of the cabinet, sprayed my belly again and took me through to the piercing room. She took out a pen and marked a dot in the middle just above the button. Then, she got a ruler and measured 1cm from the edge of my navel and told me to check it in the mirror. She told me that the gauge was 1.6mm and the length was 12mm (they pierce it with a longer length to make cleaning easier and so it can heal better). Once I gave the marking the OK, I laid on the bed and she got the clamps and needle out of the autoclave, and clamped my belly. I did the wrong thing of look up to see what was happening, but I soon laid back down again. She kept speaking to me and didn’t tell me when she was putting the needle throgh. It was painful, but no where near as much as having my earlobes done. (earlobes were 6/10 whereas belly was about a 2).

Mum was looking out the window all the time I was having it done. It burned and stung for about 5 seconds whilst she hooked the bar onto the end of the needle and pulled it through, but after she’d screwed the top ball on and I stood up and looked at the gem in my navel, all the pain disappeared.

The lady gave me a slip of paper with aftercare instructions on it, and gave me some savlon spray. She told me to apply it 4 times a day and showed me how to clean it. Moreover, she told me I could change it in 2 months, just in time for Christmas.
Within the first week, I did the WRONG thing by bending over to put my shoes on- very painful. I later realised that my piercing had snagged from the top hole a little bit and there was a patch of blood around it. Altogether, it snagged 3 times, but only tiny little ones(it takes a lot to rip a belly bar out) either by me trying to rip it!
out in
my sleep or whilst doing exercise. I then realised after 2 weeks that 4 times with the Savlon was too much as it was very irritated, so I changed to bathing it with warm water and normal soap, only using savlon straight after changing the bar.

I have had my piercing now for 3 months and there has been no more problems.
I have 12 belly bars including the one I had it pierced with now, so I have plenty of choice to choose from. I bought them from a mixture of Body Art , Argos, Claires, Hsamuel and River Island (my first one was from Hsamuel as the quality is the best)

I love my belly piercing! By the way, on the photo, my navel isn’t shaped like that, its a shadow on the left hand side from the light.

Never ever felt complete!

I have always wanted to get my belly pierced since I was 11. I was so fasinated with it and I even though it was sophisticated and i still do.

Well, I am 16 now and i recently got my belly pierced in the begining of the year(January 2, 2010). It took a lot to convince my brother to take me(Hes my legal guardian). After trying to persuade him for the 1,000th time, He tells me “Give me one good reason I should take you to get it done when I wont allow you to walk around with a short shirt”. I say ” Exactly, Im not going to walk around school or the mall with a short shirt so why cant i get it done when its for me to see when i take a shower or go swiming”. Case closed ! (LOL)

The place I went to get it pierced at was in Hunington Beach in California called Tommy T’s Body Piercing. It was very sanitary and made me think of a hospital. I was so nervous! . My piercer went through everything with me and as nervous as i was it did not even hurt. I played it safe and simple and got a plain ring. Takng care of it was very easy i just cleaned it and didnt mess with it! This was a fun experience. I love my belly button ring and cant wait to put a pretty ring in their !

I cant wait to go swiming so i can show off my belly. This was a great decison for me but make sure when you get yours done, you do it because you want it, not because “its the thing”. Thanks for reading my story. I hope you enjoyed it and make a great decision. P.S – Proper aftercare is essential. Use the things your piercer tells you to use such as saline solution and sea soaks.

Thanks and be safe !

It all started on a Friday when I was at the beach and saw a really thin girl with her belly button pierced. It immediately got my attention .

I kept an eye out for other people who may have there belly buttons pierced ever since. I got jealous to the point where I almost did a self belly piercing. Not a good idea, I realized.

So I asked my mom if I could get it done and of course she said “NO!” So a couple weeks went by and I needed to get my belly button pierced! I asked around if anyone could take me but no one wanted to get yelled at by my mom. I wouldn’t want to get yelled at! I knew she wouldn’t see it until summer when it was healed because it’s tucked under my shirt.

Eventually, my friends aunt took me to get it done. She signed the papers and it also helped that we kind of looked a like a little bit. As I picked out my belly ring I wanted I got totally nervous. My piercer marked my tummy with a purple washable marker. As picky as I am I made him redo it so it was prfectly straight. I held on to my friends hand and was shaking because I knew what I was doing was doing was wrong. My piercer put the clamp on my navel and I swallowed hard with fear and excitement. When he said breathe in and did the count down my stomach dropped.

When the needle went through me it felt like he was piercing 3 layers of skin. I could feel it go through 3 layers. I was a uncomfortable feeling. I thanked my piercer. He gave me a sheet of paper explaining what I had to do to clean it and what products I should use. When I got home my mom asked me what I did that day. I said nothing like usual. As time went on summer came. My mom found out and made me take it out. Little did she know it was healed so i just put it back in when I got home. That is how I was sneaky!!

I have wanted my belly pierced ever since Britney Spears debuted her newly pierced navel in 2000 at her televised concert in Hawaii.

I gave it a lot of thought off and on over the years, and started thinking seriously about it in July 2009. In September, I finally decided to go ahead with it.

I had my then-boyfriend do the piercing, which I regret. Instead of doing it quickly and getting it over with, he went really slow because he was scared he’d hurt me. Well, it hurt A LOT more than I thought it would. We did use a sterile piercing needle and a 7/16″ titanium barbell. I have allergies to metals, so I decided to go with titanium.

I took care of it with daily saline soaks. After about two months, I noticed some problems with it migrating. I was worried it would reject, so I removed the jewelry. There was a lot of blood that came out of the piercing when I took out the jewelry- I think I tore some skin while removing it. After doing a bit more research on rejection, I decided to try a shorte, 3/8″ barbell instead. The longer one was moving around too much, causing the migration.

Now, 4 months later, my piercing is mostly healed. The migration has seemed to slow down, although I keep a close eye on it. It also migrated slightly to the left, so its not quite centered, but its not like anyone sees it except for me, anyways.

I was worried it wouldn't look good because I'm overweight, but I love it. Everytime I look at it in the mirror, it seems like its a part of me, and I don't regret it. It was a personal decision, I did it for me. Its not something that anyone knows about unless I tell them, and that is empowering. I like the navel piercing for that reason. I'm 21, so while my parents couldn't say no, its not something they need to know about because they would disapprove.

Overall, even with the problems I encountered, I definitely love this piercing, and it was definitely worth it. It made me feel closer to my childhood idol, and while that may sound silly to many, it means a lot to me.
